Our Clinical Trials
As a world-leading healthcare company, we recognize that transparency about our clinical programs is part of our obligation to all who use or prescribe our medicines. To make well-informed assessments about our products, caregivers must have access to comprehensive and accurate information that is also balanced and timely. While our product labels remain the primary source of information for assessing the safety and effectiveness of our marketed medicines, registering and reporting the results of clinical studies provides patients and health care professionals with additional medically important information. Patients and health care providers can benefit from knowing about clinical studies that are open for enrollment and the results of studies from our marketed products. To ensure that information about our products and investigational drugs is easily accessible, we publicly register clinical studies that are open for enrollment and report the results of clinical trials on marketed medicines to the National Library of Medicine's website: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov.

This site offers up-to-date information on federally and privately supported clinical trials for a wide range of diseases and conditions.

For marketed medicines and investigational drugs, we will publicly register adequately designed and well-controlled clinical studies and studies related to serious and life-threatening diseases, regardless of location. We will reference the unique study number associated with the registration of the study in all subsequent publications and reports.

Within 12-to-18 months after a trial has been completed, we aim to make the results of all adequately designed, and well-controlled clinical studies available in the peer-reviewed literature, or on a clinical study results web site, or by presenting the data at relevant scientific meetings.

For marketed medicines, we will publish the results of all adequately designed and well-controlled clinical studies regardless of outcome. In addition, we will assess the medical importance of results from all other clinical studies of marketed medicines, regardless of study design, and publish those study results that are significant and relevant to the clinical use of the medicine and/or the care and safety of patients.
